FAQ
Questions about fees, video and your case
Short answers. The first call is where we answer the ones about your case.
Fees
What does a flat fee cover?
Our work on one case from the signed agreement to a plea, a dismissal or a trial date: court appearances, motions, discovery and meetings. Costs paid to others are separate.
What if my case goes to trial?
We quote the trial as a second flat fee, in writing, once a trial date is set. You decide then whether to go ahead with us.
Are there costs on top of the fee?
Court filing fees, lab retests, expert witnesses, transcripts and bond. We name each one with its amount before it's spent.
Can I pay in parts?
Yes. Each fee is split into two to four payments on dates set in the agreement.
Video
Do we ever meet in person?
If you'd like to, at the office on Larimer Street. Most clients don't need to: we meet by video and share documents on screen.
What do I need for a video call?
A phone or a laptop with a camera, and a private place to talk. We send a link; there's nothing to install.
Can you appear in court for me?
For many hearings, yes, and some courts let you appear by video too. When a court wants you there in person, one of us is there with you.
Your case
I was just arrested. What should I do first?
Don't discuss the case with anyone but a lawyer, write down your court date, and call the line for your state. If it's a DUI, call before the license hearing deadline.
My family member was arrested. Can I hire you for them?
Yes, you can pay the fee and help set up the call. The person charged is our client, so what they tell us stays between us and them.
Which state's line should I call?
The state where the charge was filed. Both lines reach the same three lawyers.
Ask yours on a fifteen-minute call
No charge, and you'll know which fee applies by the end of it.
