A criminal charge, one flat fee, and a plan in writing

Criminal defense from three lawyers in Denver. Your kind of case has one flat fee, it goes into one written agreement before you pay, and it doesn't grow with the hours. We meet by video anywhere in Colorado and Wyoming.

Flat fees

How the flat fee works for most charges

Find the card that matches your charge. Not sure which one it is? Send us the papers you were given and we'll tell you in writing.

  • Misdemeanor or first DUI

One charge in county or municipal court: a first DUI, petty theft, simple possession, a minor assault. Paid in three parts over 60 days.

    • Discovery requested and read, video included

    • Every court date up to a plea or dismissal

    • The license hearing, on a DUI

    • Video meetings whenever you need one

  • Felony, up to trial

One felony case in district court, from the first appearance through the preliminary hearing, motions and plea talks. Paid in four parts over 90 days.

    • A written case plan after the first review

    • Preliminary hearing prepared and argued

    • Motions to suppress written and argued

    • An investigator for one scene visit and two interviews

  • Record sealing

One petition to seal an arrest or conviction record that the law allows you to seal. Paid in full when you sign.

    • Eligibility checked before you sign

    • Petition drafted and filed

    • The hearing, if the court sets one

    • Copies of the order for employers and landlords

Our fees pay for legal work. Court filing fees, lab retests, expert witnesses, transcripts and bond are costs paid to others, and we name each one with its amount before it's spent. A trial is quoted as its own flat fee once a trial date is set.

Charges

Four kinds of case, a page for each

Each page says what happens first, what the fee covers for that charge, and what to do before your first court date.

  • DUI and impaired driving

Breath and blood tests, the stop itself, and the license hearing that runs on its own clock.

    DUI defense
  • Drug charges

Possession to intent to distribute, and the search that found what was found.

    Drug charge defense
  • Theft and shoplifting

Store detentions, value thresholds, and keeping a first charge from becoming a record.

    Theft defense
  • Record sealing

Closing an old arrest or conviction so it stops turning up in background checks.

Clients

The invoice matched the quote

“I got one number on the first call and the last invoice was that number. Teodor went through the breath test records with me on a video call from my truck between jobs.”

Cody R.First DUI

“The motion on the search is what ended my son's case. We never had to take a day off work to drive to Denver for a meeting.”

Ruth M.Parent of a client

“Sealing my record took one call, a signature and a short hearing. They told me before I signed that the filing fee was separate, and what it was.”

Jae P.Record sealing

Shared by past clients with their permission. Every case turns on its own facts, and these don't predict how yours will go.

Questions

Before you sign a flat-fee agreement

What if my case goes to trial?

The flat fee runs until a plea, a dismissal or a trial date. If a trial is set, we quote the trial as a second flat fee, in writing, and you decide then whether to go ahead with us.

Do I have to come to Denver?

No. We meet by video wherever you are in Colorado or Wyoming, and many court dates can be handled remotely. When a court wants you there in person, one of us stands next to you.

Why are there two phone numbers?

One is for Colorado cases and one for Wyoming. Both reach the same three lawyers; the number you call tells us which state's courts and rules to start from.

What isn't in the fee?

Money that goes to someone else: court filing fees, lab retests, expert witnesses, transcripts and bond. We name each cost and its amount before it's spent.

Can I pay over time?

Yes. Each fee is split into two to four payments on dates written into the agreement before you sign it.

Video call

Book fifteen minutes with a lawyer

Tell us the charge and the date of your next court appearance. A lawyer replies with a time for a video call, and tells you on that call which fee applies.

Please don't include confidential details of your case here. Sending this form doesn't make us your lawyers.
