DUI and impaired driving

A DUI is two cases, and both start the day you're stopped

There's the criminal charge in court, and there's your license, which has its own hearing and a short deadline to ask for it. We take on both from the first call.

    Ask for the license hearing

The request window is short, often days. We file it first, so your license isn't suspended by default while the court case runs.

  2. 02

    Get the records

Body camera and dash video, the breath machine's maintenance log, the blood draw's chain of custody. We read every page before your first court date.

  3. 03

Test the stop and the tests

Was there a reason to pull you over? Were the roadside tests given the way the manual says? A no on either can change the case.

  4. 04

Decide with the facts in hand

You'll know your options and what each one means for your license, insurance and record before you choose.

The fee

A first DUI has one flat fee

A repeat DUI, or one with an injury, is quoted after the first review.

  • A first DUI, misdemeanor

One DUI or impaired-driving charge in county court, with the license hearing included. Paid in three parts over 60 days.

    • Discovery requested and read, video included

    • Every court date up to a plea or dismissal

    • The license hearing

    • Video meetings whenever you need one

  • A repeat DUI, or one with an injury

The charge, the court and what is at stake are different, so we read the file first and quote it in writing before you pay.

Our fees pay for legal work. Court filing fees, lab retests, expert witnesses, transcripts and bond are costs paid to others, and we name each one with its amount before it's spent. A trial is quoted as its own flat fee once a trial date is set.

DUI questions we hear every week

Should I have refused the breath test?

What's done is done, and a refusal has its own consequences we'll walk through. What matters now is the deadline for the license hearing, so call before it passes.

Can I keep driving to work?

Often, with a restricted license or an interlock device. Which one depends on the state, the test result and your record, and we'll tell you on the first call.

Will I go to jail on a first DUI?

For most first charges the outcome is probation, classes and fines rather than jail, but it depends on the facts and the court. We'll be straight with you about yours.

Call before the license deadline

The hearing request is the first thing we do, often the same day you call.
